How You Can Volunteer
Mu Gamma will succeed long-term because of the dedication of committed volunteers. Please review the volunteer opportunities below to see how you can engage with the Chapter and make a difference.
Chapter Alumni Advisory Board
This board meets quarterly and holds a few additional conference calls to ensure that the active chapter has a strong leadership advisory committee to lean on and learn from. Currently, the Board is trying to fill out and has a few open positions. The time commitment is probably 2-3 hours per month.
Educational Foundation Board
This board meets semi-annually and holds a few additional conference calls to ensure that we have a sound career, leadership and scholarship program in place for our members. The time commitment is probably 2-3 hours per month.
Housing Corporation Board
This board meets quarterly in-person and holds a few additional conference calls to ensure that we maintain a quality alumni and parent relations program and provide competitive housing for our members. The time commitment is probably 10 hours per month.
Alumni Committees & Councils
Campaign Committee - Pledge Class Chairman
These volunteers will organize and coordinate the outreach to each of the members of their pledge class in a Chapter-wide effort to reach and inform all Mu Gamma alumni about the Capital Campaign and upcoming opportunities for reengaging with the Brotherhood.
Campaign Committee - Volunteer
These volunteers will work with the Campaign Pledge Class Chairmen to help call on 3-10 alumni from their era asking for a gift to help build our new house and fund our new educational endowment. The time commitment is probably a total of 3-5 hours.
Past Presidents Council
This group of past Grand Masters will make themselves accessible via an email LISTSERV or social media group so that current chapter officers can ask for advice as needed. The time commitment is probably no more than an hour per month.
These volunteers will help serve as the communication link between the Chapter and alumni from their era. They also might help plan reunions every five years. The time commitment is no more than an hour per month except for the years of a reunion.
If you are willing to make a difference to Mu Gamma’s future by serving in one or more of the leadership roles identified above, please contact the board.
